Just Listen by Sarah Dessen

fivestars.jpg Annabel Green is shunned by her friends because they think she slept with Dany Cash (Sophie’s boyfriend), but she was actually raped. This was a good problem solving book. She explains feelings about being scared and being overwhelmed about telling the truth. But in the end she overcomes her fear and becomes closer to her family, and old friend, and herself. It has a great lesson.

Just Listen by Sarah Dessen

fivestars.jpg This book is about a girl whose friends were mad and whose sister is anorexic. She learns to deal with all her problems and explains and teaches about them to others. It was a really good part when she learned her sister was anorexic. It was sad but it kept me reading.

The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen

fivestars.jpg A girl named Macy’s dad died and she watched him die. Ever since then, she has been wanting to be perfect. With her perfect boyfriend gone for the summer, she has taken up a new job, new life, and new friends. This book was so good and I just couldn’t put it down. It’s very realistic and I got into it really fast. I loved Macy, the main character. She was so down-to-Earth and by the end of the book, she really grew.

Someone Like You by Sarah Dessen

fourstars.jpg  This book is about a girl in high school that goes through a lot of problems, such as, her best friend gets pregnant and boy issues.  She tries to help everyone.  I thought this book was very good because it could really happen.  She deals with so many things that teenagers really go through.

That Summer by Sarah Dressen

threestars.jpg  This book starts at her new mother’s wedding, then her sisters.  With both her dad and sister married, she feels “alone.” until her boyfriend reminds her of a summer they enjoyed years ago.  But something happened that summer, what was it?  It was an okay book, I liked the author’s writing style, and how she made you feel like you were part of her story.  It was neat!

This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen

fourstars.jpg This book is about a girl named Remy. Her mother is on her 5th marriage, her brother is in love with a nutcase, and Remy can’t seem to get rid of her new boyfriend. I really like this book. I wanted to keep reading. The book is divided into 3 months, all the months in summer. Each month something happens and you don’t see it coming. It was really fun to read.

This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen

fivestars.jpg Remy, who in the past has let boyfriends come and go, has surprisingly become attached to Dexter. For the first time, Remy starts to realize what love is about. I loved it! I loved the drama! It was fun to read since it was about a teenager. Overall, it’s a great read. Five stars for Lullaby!
